BIOGRAPHY
Dimitrios Zervas was born in Athens in 1986.
Since 2020 he works and lives in Munich, Germany, where he is working as a pianist, piano accompanist, and as piano tutor at the Taufkirchen Music School and the International British School of Munich.
In 2005, he started playing the piano at the age of 19 with the Greek-Austrian pianist Yannis Hallecker at the Max Hallecker Conservatoire, where he received his piano Diploma (Bachelor with honors) in 2011 (Athens).
In 2014, as a Royal Birmingham Conservatoire scholar, he received his diploma with distinction (Master of Music in Piano Performance) under the guidance of Simon Nicholls. He was accepted at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in 2016, to continue his postgraduate studies in piano performance with Borbely Laszlo and in chamber music with Csalog Gabor.
From 2016 to 2020 he lived in Budapest where he worked as a pianist, piano tutor, and accompanist.
Apart from his music studies Dimitrios also finished his bachelor's at the Department of Economic and Regional Development at the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences in Athens.
He performed at the Symphony Hall of Birmingham (United Kingdom), the Barber Institute of Fine Arts (United Kingdom), the Adrian Boult Hall, the Saint Martin Cathedral of Birmingham (United Kingdom), the Theocharakis Foundation of Athens(Greece), Regi Zeneakademia (Hungary) and at the Kulturzentrum Taufkirchen (Germany).
In the field of composition, he was taught Harmony, Counterpoint, and Fugue by the composer Alexandros Dionatos.
His MMus research project was a survey on Bach’s Orgelbuchlein chorales. An analysis of their development through time by investigating the stylistic evolution of the voices’ patterns, symbolisms, and music effects. Moreover, he had harpsichord lessons with the British Martin Perkins, on Baroque music.
He actively participated in lessons with Alberto Portugheis, John Twaites, Victor Sangiorgio, Nemethy Attila, Martin Jones, Andrei Gavrilov, Baranyay Laszlo, Steven Osborne, and David Quigley.
